Vitalia

Vitalia is a queer Ukrainian-Canadian singer-songwriter, actress, and now DJ who thrives in front of the camera, on stage, and behind the mic. Starting her musical journey at age six, performing annually at Montreal’s Ukrainian festival, she has since cultivated a bold and ever-evolving sound that blends elements of pop, alternative electronic dance, and rock. Grounded in her theatre training, she brings a magnetic, improvisational stage presence and thrives on crowd interaction and spontaneous moments that make every performance unforgettable.

For Vitalia, songwriting is a deeply personal and therapeutic outlet. Her lyrics capture raw emotion and unfiltered honesty, creating a sense of connection with listeners who share similar life experiences. Through her music, she aims to provide comfort and a sense of belonging, reminding others they’re not alone in their struggles.

Known for her electric stage presence, Vitalia thrives on engaging with her audience, turning every performance into an interactive and unforgettable experience. She debuted her ‘sad girl pop’ era with what a shame and released her highly anticipated first EP alone in a crowd in April 2025. A moody, emotionally rich project featuring tracks like molly and insecure. The EP explores themes of longing, heartbreak, and vulnerability over dark pop and danceable beats. Her music video for molly surpassed 60k views within its first three months, further solidifying her rising influence.

Following the completion of her sad girl pop chapter, she steps into her electronic pop ‘hot girl summer’ era with the single rebound sex. Embracing groovy, KAYTRANADA-esque production and provocative lyricism, the track marks a shift toward bolder, sexier, rhythm-driven music built for the dancefloor. Beyond its pulse, the era is rooted in empowerment: encouraging women to speak up, honour their intuition, and embrace their needs and desires without shame. Vitalia challenges societal guilt surrounding female sexuality, advocating for openness, respect, and clear communication as the foundation for pleasure and freedom. Centering feminism and queerness, this chapter invites listeners to live in the moment, have fun unapologetically, and feel at ease owning their truth.

Vitalia has collaborated with a range of talented producers, including Grammy-winning Housefly, Latin Grammy winner Felipe Castro, KOLA, and Michael Go, crafting a sound that merges organic textures with polished, forward-thinking production.

In 2025, she also began DJing, adding another dimension to her artistry and performance style. Her DJ sets blend her deep love for 2000s and 2010s throwbacks, funk-infused pop, and high-energy house, adapting fluidly to the vibe of any event. Whether curating nostalgic, dancey crowd-pleasers or diving into electronic and underground grooves, Vitalia brings a contagious energy and offers genre-flexible sets tailored to everything from nightclubs and festivals to private parties and pop-up events.

Vitalia’s music is a constantly evolving tapestry of influences, with each phase of her career exploring a different sonic landscape. Her debut funk-inspired releases carried the shimmering, danceable essence of ABBA and Dua Lipa, blending retro grooves with a modern, playful edge. Her ‘sad girl pop’ phase channeled the emotional depth of Billie Eilish and The Neighbourhood, laced with flashes of Lady Gaga’s theatrical drama. Her current ‘hot girl summer’ house pop sound leans into the effortless cool of artists like KAYTRANADA and INJI, proving she’s equally at home in a nightclub anthem as in a haunting ballad. Looking ahead, her 2027 rock era will draw from the raw grit of Paramore, WILLOW, Okean Elzy, and early 2000s emo-rock, infusing alt sounds with Eastern European emotion.

Beyond her artistry, Vitalia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance and offers vocal coaching for singers looking to build skill and confidence through a pop-informed lens. Whether on stage, behind the DJ booth, or in the studio, her passions for music and wellness continue to guide her to keep evolving, daring, and staying true to the stories she’s here to tell.
