Vitalia Khmil

Vitalia is a Ukrainian-Canadian singer-songwriter and actress who thrives in front of the camera, on stage, and behind the mic. Starting her musical journey at age six, performing annually at Montreal’s Ukrainian festival, she has since cultivated a bold and ever-evolving sound that blends elements of pop, alternative, dance, and rock. With a versatile voice and an eclectic, genre-defying style, she continuously pushes artistic boundaries, drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences.

For Vitalia, songwriting is more than just a craft — it’s a deeply personal and therapeutic outlet. Her lyrics capture raw emotion and unfiltered honesty, creating a sense of connection with listeners who share similar life experiences. Through her music, she aims to provide comfort and a sense of belonging, reminding others they’re not alone in their struggles.

Known for her electric stage presence, Vitalia thrives on engaging with her audience, turning every performance into an interactive and unforgettable experience. She debuted her sad girl pop era with “what a shame” and is now gearing up for her first-ever EP, set to release in April 2025. This project, featuring tracks like “molly”, “alone in a crowd”, and “insecure”, dives into themes of love, longing, and self-reflection, all wrapped in moody, danceable production. Her latest music video, “molly”, recently surpassed 60k views in just three months, a testament to her growing impact.

Vitalia has collaborated with a range of talented producers, including Grammy-winning Housefly (2025), Latin Grammy winner Felipe Castro, KOLA, and Michael Go, shaping her sound with a mix of organic instrumentation and cutting-edge production. And while her upcoming EP leans into melancholic pop, she’s already laying the groundwork for a “hot girl summer” house pop project, as well as a rock-driven project set to drop in 2026, proving that reinvention is always on the horizon.

Vitalia’s music is a constantly evolving tapestry of influences, with each phase of her career exploring a different sonic landscape. Her debut funk-inspired projects carried the shimmering, danceable essence of ABBA and Dua Lipa, blending retro grooves with a modern, playful edge. Her current “sad girl pop” era, shaped by the moody intimacy of Billie Eilish and The Neighbourhood, also carries subtle echoes of Lady Gaga’s 2010s drama and theatricality. Meanwhile, her upcoming “hot girl summer” house pop project draws from the breezy, effortless cool of KAYTRANADA and Sabrina Carpenter, proving that she’s just as at home in a nightclub anthem as she is in an emotional ballad. Looking ahead, her 2026 rock EP takes clear inspiration from the raw energy and emotional grit of Paramore, WILLOW, and Okean Elzy, infusing alt-rock with both Western and Eastern European sensibilities. Following in the footsteps of these artists, she continues to carve out her own path — one that’s unique and deeply authentic to her roots, her experiences, and the ever-changing stories she chooses to tell through music.

Beyond her artistry, Vitalia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance and offers vocal coaching for those looking to explore and develop their voice through a pop lens. Whether on stage, in the studio, or working with aspiring singers, her passion for music continues to drive her forward — always evolving, always surprising, and always keeping her audience on their toes.
